stories

Maybe it's just the job, but I can't help feeling sometimes as though stories are pretty much practically the messiah. Like, if we'd all just sit around telling each other our stories (and more importantly, listening), well, the problems we've made for ourselves would all just fade away.

What is evil, if not a failure of imagination -- a failure to enter into another's story and own it as your own?

I watched this short film yesterday that was based on the idea that people would be more willing to open up with bits of their story to strangers if you approached them while they were running. The results are beautiful and fascinating and I love them.

Enjoy:

  1. Don't let the past rob you of your present. That's all you've got.
