the sound of art: Euphonia

Who watches a 53-minute "experimental" film on Vimeo?

Me, that's who. And perhaps you, on my recommendation.

It's called EUPHONIA, and it's written and directed by a guy named Danny Madden at Ornana Films. I'm not sure why I was captivated the whole way through -- I'm as turned-off by the term "experimental" as is any other likewise uncultured swine -- but you're just going to have to take my word that it's an oddly compelling, intriguing narrative.

Unless you watch it. Which you should. Because of adjectives like "compelling," "intriguing," and (bonus) "astounding."

I think maybe it's a visual exploration of the digitally/electronically mediated experience (and also a love story)... but I don't know. Here... decide for yourself:
