Somebody just pointed out to me that it's harder to get the job I'm shooting for -- full-time, professional screenwriter -- than to become a professional athlete. It's true.

The Writer's Guild of America reported only about 1300 people earning income in 2011, but I'd guess that probably less than 300 of them are writing movies full-time.

My guesstimations may be way off, but still... I'm shooting for something with ZERO job security that only a handful of people on the planet can do for a living. Nice. It's gonna be that much more satisfying when I WIN!!!

(he said, over and over again, as he cried himself to sleep)
